To My Dear Father

Dear Father,
I'm sorry for all the times that I've made you mad,
For being a disappointment that caused you to feel upset,
Many unexpected failures to despair,
And the countless tries that I wished to impress,
But yet, you were willing to accept them with no regrets.

You were a secretive early bird for those who you love the most,
A promise to be home before sunset, covering in tears and sweat,
A lifetime bet to pay off our bills and debts,
Never realise that your dreams were barely spoken out loud,
Never rest in ease, as you were too busy chasing mine without a doubt.

Inconsiderate I was to ask for wealth instead of your health,
An unimaginative weight that you must have felt,
And the amount of distrait had kept in mind, despite its state,
As if fate was there to debate, never once you have a reason to hate,
But now, everything's too late as I watch you sleep in bed,
Decorated with dead flowers above your head.

The words that I have never told you,
I love you three thousand, now and forever.
